Emma Raducano enters the Korea Open semi-finals by defeating Lynette | Emma Radukano


Emma Radocano reached the semi-finals of the Korea Open, comfortably beating Poland’s Magda Linette 6-2 6-2 in Seoul.

Radokano wrapped up her third straight sets win in the South Korean capital and has now won three consecutive tournament matches for the first time since her stunning US Open win in 2021.


The 19-year-old will face Latvian top seed Jelena Ostapenko or Andorran teen Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva for a place in the final.

Radocano, who fell at the first hurdle to defend her title at the US Open last month, slipped to 77th in the world rankings from the top 10 of her career.

But the British No. 1, who beat Japan’s Moyoka Uchijima and Belgium’s Yanina Wickmayer this week, has rediscovered her best form in Korea.

Raducanu got off to a great start, breaking Linette twice and comfortably holding her serve on her way to a 5-1 lead before sealing the first set 6-2 after 35 minutes.

Lynette, who lost to young Czech Linda Frohvertova in last week’s Chennai Open final, immediately hit back in the second, winning the opener for the service.

The 30-year-old Pole then took a 40-0 lead on Radocano, but the Briton went on to save three break points and then dealt her opponent a powerful blow by winning her third serve in the next game to move to second. -1 forward.

Radocano held his serve and broke Linnett for the fourth time in the match to take a 4-1 lead and that quickly became 5-1 when he caught the love.
